What is a heat pump?

A heat pump extracts heat from outdoor air — even in frost — and pumps it into your home. For every 1 kWh of electricity, a modern heat pump delivers 3 to 5 kWh of heat. Compare that with a gas boiler at a maximum 1.07× efficiency.

There are three main types: air-to-air (an AC that also heats), hybrid air-to-water (alongside your boiler) and all-electric(fully gas-free). Which suits you depends on insulation, heating system and preferences.

Heat pump benefits

Up to 60% less gas

An average household saves €800–€1,300 per year on gas.

ISDE subsidy

Up to €3,025 subsidy for all-electric and hybrid (capacity-dependent).

BRL-100 certified

Our engineers are officially accredited for heat pump installation.

5-year warranty

Full installation coverage. Up to 10 years factory warranty on the unit.

Hybrid vs. all-electric

Which type of heat pump suits your home best?

Hybrid heat pump

Works alongside your existing boiler. On mild days the heat pump heats, on frost days the boiler kicks in.

  • 60% less gas
  • Suitable for label C–E
  • Fast payback (~3 years)
Net from €3,075

All-electric heat pump

Fully replaces your gas boiler. The gas connection can be removed. Highest comfort and lowest CO₂ emissions.

  • 100% gas-free
  • Requires label B or better
  • Cooling in summer too
Net from €6,925

Frequently asked questions

What is a heat pump and how does it work?+

A heat pump extracts heat from outdoor air and pumps it to your central heating system (air-to-water) or directly into your room (air-to-air). For every kWh of electricity, the system delivers 3 to 5 kWh of heat.

Hybrid or all-electric — what is the difference?+

Hybrid works alongside your existing boiler: the heat pump does most of the work, the boiler kicks in on cold days and for hot tap water. All-electric fully replaces the gas boiler and often requires a well-insulated home.

Do I get a subsidy?+

Yes, via the national ISDE scheme. The amount is calculated per kW (€1,025 base + €225 per kW + €200 A+++ bonus): hybrid €2,125–€3,025, all-electric €2,575–€3,025. We include the figure in your quote.

How long does a heat pump last?+

With annual maintenance typically 15–20 years. Within that period the system needs no major investment, only routine service.

Is my home suitable?+

For hybrid almost always. For all-electric we recommend at least label B, and ideally underfloor heating or low-temperature radiators. We do a free home check.
